Basaglar is a prescription medicine used to treat and control high blood sugar in adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. This medicine is also administered in children with type 1 diabetes.
Basaglar’s effectiveness is unknown in children with type 2 diabetes or in children who are younger than 6 years old. No concrete studies pertaining to the efficiency of this medicine for the said age group.

- Some insurance companies switched people with diabetes from Lantus to Basaglar. At first, the medication was okay; however, after a few uses, one reported having experienced a jump in their blood sugar levels from 200 mg% to 500 mg% readings.
- A person with diabetes reported Basaglar as only a placebo and can be dangerous to use.
